A friend just gave me an MTD Yard Machine snowthrower. It's a 3hp two cycle engine. It has been sitting for a couple years. I assume the fuel was left in it. Here is the problem: When I push the primer, air comes out of a small port hole on the side of the carb. I don't think the engine is getting fuel. It won't start. Why is air coming out of that hole? I've never seen anything like this before.

No doubt the carb is all gummed up maybe even obstructed with
bad fuel. The air has to go somewhere ....

Get the carb rebuilt or cleaned and than use only the super unleaded while mixing in the future and either use staibil or drain the fuel tank when you are out of season. ....
